 Surah Yasin Verse 8 and 9

 8. 
..إِنَّا  جَعَلْنَا  فِىٓ  أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ  أَغْلَٰلًا  فَهِىَ  إِلَى  ٱلْأَذْقَانِ  فَهُم  مُّقْمَحُونَ
– Inna Ja ’alnaa fii a’naaqihim aghlaalan fahiya ilal adzqooni fahumm muqmahuun
– We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see).
 9. 
..وَجَعَلْنَا  مِنۢ  بَيْنِ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  سَدًّا  وَ مِنْ  خَلْفِهِمْ  سَدًّا  فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ  فَهُمْ  لَا  يُبْصِرُونَ
– Wa ja ‘alna min baini aidiihim saddaw wa min khaolfihim saddan fa aghsyainaahum fahum la yubshiruun
– And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see.

Ya Sin is the 36th sura of the Quran. This Surah consists of 83 verses, including Meccan/Makkiyah (meaning that this surah was revealed in Mecca before the Prophet Muhammad migrated to Medina). Surah yasin was revealed after surah Al-Jinn. Named Ya Sin because it begins with the letter Ya Sin. As with the hidden meaning alphabetical letters Alif Lam Mim or Nun located at the beginning of some of the chapters of the Quran, then so is the sense of Ya Sin included in the category “ayat mutasyaabihat”.

A. Meccan surah is revealed verses before the Prophet Muhammad fled to Medina. Surah Makiyyah down for 12 years, 5 months, 13 days, beginning on 17 Ramadan (February 610 AD), when the Prophet was 40 years old.

B. Madaniyah is the term given to the verses of the Qur’an were revealed in Madinah or lowered after the Prophet Muhammad fled to Medina. A letter can consist of verses revealed in Madinah as a whole, but can also be partially lowered in Mecca (Makiyyah).
